I received this computer about 3 days ago from Amazon. I've had a chance to try it out.... and to purchase Office 2010 for Home and Business. THAT is where I have my beef with Dell AND Microhard. I'll get into that shortly! Startup speed from the machine being off is about 45-50 seconds when you include inputting your password. I don't expect this laptop to quite match the speed and power of my desktop (core 2 quad in my desktop) But STILL it has at least 50% more memory and about 30% more storage space than the average laptop being sold today.

As far as looks goes, it is a nice version of black/dark grey. The keyboard itself is surrounded by a silver finish which can easily pick up fingerprints. I recommend that if you shop at Costco, get a bundle of their yellow microfiber cloths for cleaning the keyboard and screen. Those cloths are fabulous! Anyway I ran this for just short of 3 hours before I felt a definate need to recharge the battery. Keep in mind that it's a little more difficult to find a laptop case to fit this machine, since the screen is 17.3".

Image quality for this laptop is about average, however there is a slight blue cast to the entire screen (moderately blue which I adjusted about -20% blue and about -12 green. I run this through my wireless network at home, and It works in any room in my house 60ft from my router (using a Belkin N1+ router, which will soon be gently placed in the circular file at about 50 mph!... I'll replace it with Link Sys N router...It's a long story!) In a few days I'll be flying to the Philippines for 2 weeks+ to visit with my in-laws and to take thousands of photographs (I'm a professional photographer).
